The PlanetSide 2 Beta
We want to give an honest view of the beta for you, so we are going to go over the current pros and cons.
Pros:
- The vehicles and upgrades, by and large, work well and are useful
- The game is great when latency is smooth and servers are running well
- Group dynamics work well for the most part
- The game looks very good for a free-to-play
Cons:
- Weapons need rebalancing for some factions
- There are latency issues that need to be resolved
- There are some UI bugs here and there
- A serious population imbalance in areas leads to zerg rushing. All the skill in the world won’t save you from enough enemies. Of course this may just be part of the game. It wasn’t unheard of for this to happen in PlanetSide 1.
But what is Nerd Age going to do with PlanetSide 2?
We are hoping to do some streams of it on Twitch or Own3d TV. We will also be playing on East 1, as Vanu Sovereignity. Feel free to join us if you want, just leave us some contact info.
We hope to start a real group with PlanetSide 2 where the fans can interact with us. We want to have something like this with all our games.

Is it perfect yet? No, but few games like this are. We are not even at release yet either. We receive periodic e-mails that SOE knows about the imperfections and is working on them. So be sure to check this game out for yourself. It will likely be one of the top free-to-play games out there on release.
