Atlus brought out a lot of information around Persona 4 Arena Ultimax for E3. So we are going to go over what we know so far for you. It is a roster update but it is quite an impressive one.
The Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Early Info
The full name is Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold. At least in Japan. For the rest of us we apparently like to simplify things. New characters and small changes to gameplay round out this roster update.
New Characters in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
Three new characters are in all versions of the game. These include:
- Yukari Takeba from Persona 3 in her Pink Argus outfit.
- Junpei Iori who is older and has a somewhat different outfit.
- Sho Minazuki who is a new character who plays a role similar to Hazama in BlazBlue.
There will also be characters only in the console edition. These are:
- Rise Kjikawa who will likely have some different powers based on her persona.
- Ken Amada and Koromaru as an individual character. Similar to the single-double characters in Melty Blood.
- Tohru Adachi, probably in one of his less powerful forms.
Shadow Forms and Fatal Counters
Two big changes include Shadow Forms. These have access to awakened supers constantly. They also have chaining and different stats. This is very similar to the way forms worked in Melty Blood. It seems that the game is getting closer and closer to that. Fatal Counters allow more counters to some of the most annoying combos. They also leave your opponent open to your own combos as well.
The Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Release Dates
This already came out in Japanese arcades in 2013. It will be coming to Japanese consoles on August 28, 2014. North Americans will have to wait until September 30, 2014 and Europeans will have to wait longer than that. You can always check the Atlus site for more info where Persona 5 is being talked about.
