While covering the Charity Bundle we noticed a site called One Game a Month. It’s an indie site that does exactly what the name says, encourages developers to create one game a month. This very interesting site is something we think indie fans will really enjoy.
One Game a Month So Far
Those who should be most interested are developers. They can meet with a community that has interests similar to theirs and work on their skills. Both better and lesser known developers show off their skills and fight the clock to make new games. Along with Ludum Dare this is one of the sites to watch for up-and-coming developers who will be making the games you play down the line.
It also gives a way for experienced developers share their insights with the upcoming ones. So if you are one of those then be sure to check them out as well. But perhaps the most valuable thing it adds is motivation for people.
The 5020 Games of One Game a Month
Right now there are as many games as we said and probably more by the time you read this. It’s a place to find out how to develop them and play them.
They’re stretched across a huge number of genres. If you’re looking for a mentor or a way into the industry you may want to get involved. As usual if you are a YouTuber then you might want to check it out for something fun to play.
Supporting One Game a Month
The first thing you can do is check the site out. It couldn’t hurt at least. We think that this site has a significant future for it. Even if you just want to contribute music that would work too. More indie networking sites are rarely a bad thing.
