Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is a remake of the original and classic game. The new version is being brought to us by the “Oddworld Inhabitants” and “Just Add Water” studios. Today we want to share what information has come out so far about the game.
Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty in High Resolution
As you can see above the graphics have been completely revamped. The models all look very good. However they also added the illusion of the depth of field. This is rather strange and I hope that it does not change the gameplay. At any rate the particles and shadows in this new version are fantastic. Our only concern is whether this will mostly just be a graphics update to the old game. That would be unfortunate.

So far we have only seen brief glimpses of the gameplay. The various comments and press releases hint at the fact that this game is going to have some new content compared to the old game. However right now we cannot be sure what all that content is going to be. We are hoping for some new areas or powers ourselves. We will be following the game and let you know when we find out more.
The Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty Release
Right now they only have a blanket statement of 2014. It will be on PlayStation 4 at first. While we do not know whether it will be ported to other systems it seems likely. The older games have been ported extensively from device to device so we see little reason not to. The only other problem would be the technical specifications. We doubt this would be a significant barrier. The graphics are very nice but they aren’t exactly blowing the graphics envelope to pieces.
I really don’t believe that a remake must have new gameplay content as a necessity. Maybe adding a co-op mode, since this genre and the game setting leaves room for that.
Otherwise, I just wanted a hi-res version of that game, that would be awesome already.
