When looking for a Kickstarter to focus on we look for a few things. If your game is absolutely bizarre and confusing that’s great. If it gives us a creepy feeling then that works too. Octopus City Blues meets both these requirements. So come with us as we explore a very colorful and rather disturbing new project.
The Alternate Reality of Octopus City Blues
The story centers around, what else, a giant city with octopus parts all over. Something has caused reality to rip, tear and transmogrify. Every area is a macabre and twisted nightmare with writhing tentacles around every corner.
All of this seems somewhat normal to Kaf Kafkaryan. The clearly Kafka-inspired main character goes about his days as a tentacle trimmer. He is addicted to Octoblood which is a substance that lets him explore dream worlds.
Playing the Octopus City Blues
The game follows his adventures throughout this maddening environment in the top-down RPG style. The main gameplay focuses around turns of the plot through conversation with a few apparent minigame sections.

We think this is yet another project worth checking out. Their reward structure is absolutely bizarre, in keeping with the rest of their style. You can get likenesses in the games, sculptures and additional artwork with larger pledges. If you pledge $1,000 you get a thank you e-mail from the team. They say “You may get the previous rewards if we’re feeling generous.”
The Ghost in a Bottle
This type of thing goes with their site as well. It seems the focus of the game team, known as Ghost in a Bottle, is on either confusing or frightening people. At this moment we are both so they appear to have done a good job. They seem to be living their gimmick of being insane so they’ll probably be successful.
