The Octodad 2 Kickstarter has succeeded and the game will soon be in full scale development. For those of you who don’t know, Octodad was an irreverent and extremely amusing free to play game. You can get it here.
Its charm was due to two facts: #1 without practice, Octodad was extremely hard to control. #2 Most people in his life didn’t realize he was an octopus. It was a great combination that led to an extremely fun game. It is free right now and worth a play.
Octodad 2 promises more story, a bigger play area and more characters. It’s going to be twice the game the first one was, and you the fans have made it a reality. There are still prizes up for grabs on the Kickstarter, not the least of which being an Octodad 2 costume or your very own NPC.
As far as the second game goes, it also looks like they are working hard on the modeling. This is going to be a significant release which will eventually end up on Steam. This means that fans of the original can expect a much better and also better looking game. We can only hope that there is also a ton of advanced gameplay to back up all of these other advances which are being made.
Update: The Octodad 2 Kickstarter has gone beyond even their wildest dreams, and they have more funding than they need. They are now going into full production on the game.
