To thank fans the Octodad creators are adding some additional levels to Octodad 1 and calling it 1.5.
You can get it for free at the Octodad site. We’re all still very much looking forward to Octodad 2, which is in development.
These stages are a big thank you to fans who made their Kickstarter a success. They raised a sizeable $24,320 towards the production of the game. The creators will be giving copies and early access to some stages to Kickstarter fans.
For those who didn’t play the first game, let us give you an overview. You play as an Octopus who is on a quest to create something for his family. You have to gather quite a few strange items in order to put it together.
Throughout the game your family will have various tasks for you that will give you items. The entire game has a very silly style of play throughout culminating in a crazy villain. There is a Sushi chef who inexplicably knows that you are an octopus, and he is coming to get you.
The villain will be making a return in two, along with another member of his family. As you can read on Nerd-Age, he has a wife and she is even scarier than him.
But more than that there was the main draw of its confusing and sometimes infuriating controls. You might need to get a toy for your kid, but it sure won’t be easy to do so. You’ll be more likely to knock down everything around you.
We will be covering this story for some time and giving you updates on the situation. Teasers and a review should be forthcoming in the future and we can hopefully get you some beta gameplay. We would like to thank the team at Young Horses for working with us on the interview and Twitter.
