Why Novus AEterno Fits in the 4X Genre
So there are a few things that both this game and previous games in that genre have in common:
- Diplomacy
- Research
- A map with territory to conquer
- Massive space battles
- Economy management over time
So as you can see it’s more Sins of a Solar Empire and less Command and Conquer. Depending on what genre you are a fan of that can make a big difference.
Novus AEterno Planets
They are promising a home planet that cannot be taken from you along with detailed moons and space effects to keep everything interesting. The idea is to have an infinite universe that people can keep signing into. We will see whether that works out well with the demand.
A Kickstarter Funded in 102 Hours
Novus AEterno was funded extremely quickly because they gathered press from all over the industry from large to small. You should check it out here to see a good example of how to get the same for your own game. Of course it is never easy unless you know some people in the industry, which it looks like they did. Still it’s an interesting case study for developers.
Contributing to the Novus AEterno Kickstarter
If you want to contribute they still have higher tiers with credits, copies of the game and much more. Fleets and much more are things you can get, but you may have to drop $100 plus for many of them due to the popularity of the game.
While we don’t usually cover games this popular, the unique blend they went for with this caught our eye. It is looking good so far.
