Nourin
Nourin is about a high school that teaches about agriculture. One of the students named Kosaku is a big fan of an idol named Yuka who has just recently retired. Kosaku wanted to be a trendy farmer, but gives up the dream when she retires because he only wanted to do it to send Yuka fresh vegetables. Turns out Kosaku has been sending Yuka vegetables the whole time and they have all be suggestively shaped. Kosaku’s friends manage to get him out of his funk and into class in time to see that the idol he admired now come to his school.
Nourin is not what I expected. I was not thinking that a show about an agricultural school was going to be so dirty. Every single aspect of the show is used for some dirty purpose. When the bull gets loose Minori takes her shirt off, when the class is arguing about the different types of farming the focus is on big boobs and the vegetables Kosuku sends all look like a certain piece of anatomy just to name a few things. That is not even including the teacher and her problems. It is a bit amusing to see all the different ways they can put in dirty elements.
So far there is not much of a story just a string of jokes about breasts and such. The only thing that could be considered a story is the parts about Kosaku and the idol.
Overall not a lot going for this show.
Status: Not very good so far.
Noragami
Noragami is about a god named Yato who does odd jobs to make a name for himself as a god. Yato is chasing a cat to fulfill a boy’s wish when a human girl named Hiyori tries to save him and has her soul leave her body. Turns out that Hiyori’s soul will continue doing this and at the end of the episode she pays Yato to help fix this problem.
The story for Noragami seems pretty interesting. The idea that the gods have to work their way up to being well known and loved by followers is not overly done. Also having poor Yato be so lowly that even his helpers are leaving him is amusing. That he is trying to work his way up to having a shrine with just five yen coins seems a bit far fetched. He will be working forever at that rate especially since some of these requests take a while to perform like finding the cat.
The characters work for me as well. Yato tries to act like a big man since he is a god, but he gets so hurt when people have never heard of him. It makes me hope that he achieves his dream by the end. Hiyori’s personality is mostly bland, but her love of martial arts makes her more likable.
Overall this show appears to have some potential and I want to find out what becomes of Yato.
