Mount and Blade collection released

For those of you who missed this series, here is your chance. The Mount and Blade collection is out right now. This award-winning series redefined what it meant to be an indie developer. It also brought us hours upon hours of fun.

What is Mount and Blade at it’s core?

At it’s core Mount and Blade is an action-adventure RPG game, with third person combat. You spend your time leading a nation and bringing it under your iron rule. At the same time, Mount and Blade is about a very fun, visceral combat style. You go with your troops and hack your way through huge masses of enemies. You can get it easily on Steam right now. Now that you know about the core, let us talk about each game specifically.

The Original Mount and Blade

The original Mount and Blade had your basic combat and recruiting. While it did not have all the depth of future versions, it had a very good core game. You would bash your way through the countryside in single player. All the while attempting to keep your territory safe from reprisals.

This edition brought new items and options to the game. It also brought multiplayer, and was an excellent expansions in every sense of the word. Overall pretty much everything was a step up. To this day, it is still the favorite version of many people. We at Nerd Age like this one best as well.

Mount and Blade with Fire and Sword

Mount and Blade with Fire and Sword was a bold move forward. It added many new options including firearms. However it was also controversial with fandom. It changed the entire flow of each battle. This is probably the least popular of the Mount and Blade games. Most of the controversy stems from the fact that it was simply a mod. Fans today are still divided on the quality of this one. This was also where the series wrapped up, much like this article.
