The Moray Game Jam is coming up soon and if you are an aspiring developer you can apply. You can compete with other developers for the chance to develop a game. If you are over in Europe this might just work for you.
The Moray Game Jam Itself
Mutiple teams will go to Moray College in Elgin and compete over 48 hours in order to make the best game. Hunted Cow Studios will be taking the winners in and helping them refine the game. We assume they will also be publishing it, which explains why many teams like this bother with these events. They get another game added to their own portfolio.
The college itself of course gets the promotion something like this brings. Many different educational institutes are partnering with gaming companies now that it is a huge industry. It is perhaps a better time to get an education in gaming than ever before.
Jam’s European Vacation
For those unfamiliar with where this is, it is in Scotland. So if you are in one of the other corners of the earth then you may have to just watch and cheer people on. However you feel about Europe many areas there have been proactive in promoting gaming. We hope this phenomenon spreads to the U.S. a bit more someday.
Getting Involved with the Moray Game Jam
Applications are opening up in February, on the 14th. The contest itself will be taking place on the 14th-16th of March. We assume they will be streaming at least some of it in one way or another. The added aspect of competition should insure that we see some harder work than usual. If this sounds interesting to you then visit their site.
