McPixel Gets an App and More - Greenlight it - Nerd Age

McPixel is going places like we always said it would. From a simple game at Ludum Dare to a new IP, you have come a long way baby. It also gives others hope to do the same thing with their own creations.

The New McPixel Mobile Scene

SoS is living the dream and has put up a mobile app in many places. This includes an iTunes page and a page for Google Play. Right now you can get it for $1.99. Of course SoS hasn’t said what it will be after that. Maybe he’ll just play a joke and keep it at that.

McPixel Lite was also released which includes 24 out of 100 of the original levels. This might not thrill you if you have the original. However it is nice to be able to play this game anywhere. Honestly it was the sort of game fit for mobile devices to start with.

McPixel on Steam Greenlight

McPixel is in fact on Steam Greenlight right now. Apparently the Steam Greenlight presentation will be on 30/8/2012. We can assume that Steam Greenlight will be in full swing by then, so that is another interesting piece of information. It is good to see this happening for SoS.

However once this is out on Steam Greenlight we will need to support it. If the game does not get enough support this could be somewhat of a waste of time.We want to see the gameplay grow and evolve in future editions.

What McPixel means for you as a developer

Developers can seriously take heed here. Due to some minor media attention and hard work from SoS this game has really taken off. All of this from a simple game jam project, hard to believe isn’t it?
