Life Goes On is one of the sea of platformers we don’t usually cover. However it has such an interesting mechanic. Seeing any amount of innovation works for and it looks pretty fun.
The Appeal of Life Goes On
The only way for you to win in this game is to die. Being morbid is part of the fun in this game. You are a lone adventurer with no way to get through certain puzzles. That is until you kill yourself off and use the body to solve it. You create bridges of bodies and weigh down switches with them as well.
While this isn’t the first time characters have had to die to progress it is probably the first time a game is so focused on it. The mechanic looks like it will be a huge part of nearly every puzzle in the game. Overall it looks fluid and polished enough to be rather fun.
A Decidedly Less Serious Take on Death
Strangely enough the game isn’t particularly gory and has the atmosphere of a cartoon. Perhaps it’s some sort of “Dark Joke” on the genre. Or they may have just gone with it for Life Goes On because that’s just how platformers are today.
Trying Life Goes On Yourself
They are of course offering a demo right here for you. It seems that slowly this is becoming the standard for indie games. It is always good to try something so you don’t have buyers remorse later on. The game is slated to come out on April 18th and they have a way to buy it early on their site. They will of course have Steam keys later on for those who want them. We hope this game shapes up into something excellent later on.
