Overview of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 3
Dio is finally revealed as the villain he is. Even when he tries to trick them, Robert E.O. Speedwagon reveals his lies. Dio is forced to become a vampire with the blood of Jonathan’s father. The battle that follows after is nothing short of climactic. It has even more intensity than the manga. And this was a fight that had flames and death everywhere in the manga.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and brutal fights
This episode has it all. Decapitations, impaling and gore by the ton. The entire fight is a hellish crescendo of superhuman blows. Dio spends part of the fight walking up a wall. You could expect this of any self-respecting vampire with style. Jonathan performs insane feats of acrobatics. Finally he manages to impale Dio on a spike and burn him alive. Quite impressive.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Ham-Fisted Drama
One thing this series has in spades is ham-fisted drama. There are a lot of extremely dramatic scenes. These work really well for me. I appreciate hot blood and craziness. But to be fair, I liked the admitted hokey S-CRY-ed series except for the end. For me, it just works. If you are not into this type of drama then it might not work as well for you.
The Bright Future of Phantom Blood
This episode was absolutely phenomenal. People were asking whether a small studio could succeed. They have shown they can do a great job on the true meat of the series. Hopefully the rest of the series will go this well. The one problem I had with this episode is that the “wrryyyy” was a bit understated. It would have been subtle at this point but I could barely hear it. I hope Dio’s voice actor goes all out with it later on. He did do one good “ureeee” near the end though.
