Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 21 Review - Nerd Age

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 21 Review

This is yet another transition episode for the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Battle Tendency arc.

The Rundown of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 21

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 21 Joseph wants to kill wham

Not much happens in this episode. This is because of the original manga. Caesar basically died for no good reason because Joseph will not take the antidote he stole. Not until he beats Wham. While this is supposed to be touching, Caesar’s last wish was to give Joseph the antidote. It cheapens the sacrifice of Caesar. But then, this was how Araki wanted it.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 21 Vampire Army

Basically Lisa Lisa kills a random guy to prove how strong she is. Then Joseph and Lisa Lisa get surrounded by a vampire army. Lisa Lisa appeals to their honor to escape. Because Cars and Wham are so honorable, they decide to agree to having Joseph fight Wham and Lisa fight Cars.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 21 Chariot Battle Begins

Lisa Lisa also reveals that she was taught by Straights. She was also the baby rescued in part 1. However she does not reveal her full past to Joseph. Overall this is a transition episode to the finale.

The Differences Between Manga and Anime

In the manga I was just able to flip through this section incredibly quickly. But unfortunately the animators do not have this luxury. The people have to watch everything in the episode. Thus this episode seemed worse than it was originally. It just seems to be part of the differences in the medium. Overall this led to a rather lackluster episode.

Heading Towards a Great Finish

The next few episodes will cover the finale of the series. Hopefully things will end well with Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 22. Then we move along to the third series, a fan favorite the world over. Hardcore fans should not forget that a new Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure game is coming out. We have faith it will come over to English-speaking shores a bit later on. We are quite excited to see it translated, as we imagine other fans are.
