The story moves in the Battle Tendency arc to when Joseph meets Caesar in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure episode 14.

The Rundown of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 14

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure begins the relationship between Caesar and Joseph. From the very start they have a love-hate relationship. Joseph hates Caesar’s attitude and Caesar hates Joseph for many reasons.

The two fight by controlling living things with Hamon. Caesar controls a woman and uses some bubble attacks until Joseph surprises him with a pigeon. Caesar reveals the real reason he hates Joseph. He blames Joseph’s family for letting his grandfather die and tearing his father from him.

The episode ends with more pillar men awakening. There is also a sappy bit of unusually bad writing by Araki I will comment on in a bit. However Joseph and Caesar must pose before going into battle, as they are in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.

The absolutely ridiculous Mark event

One part of this episode that is not so good, is the melodrama with mark. This was a strangely bad bit of writing for Araki, who usually did great things. We get to know a character known as Mark for a few panels. Then he has half his body ripped off by the main villains. Then we are treated to a sappy part where Caesar says goodbye to him.

The problem with it is that we barely know the character. When I read the original manga long ago and thought Speedwagon was dead, I was sad. I had a connection to the character. We have no strong attachment to Mark, but are supposed to feel sad over him. This was a surprisingly bad bit of writing from the original. But I suppose even the best of us make mistakes.

The future of the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure TV series

We really wanted them to go through the entire series, but their future looks shaky. They may have to cut it off before it is finished due to lack of interest. We hope this isn’t the case and they can fit it all in, but it doesn’t look great. The other worry is that they leave too much out while trying to wrap up. We suggest that any true fans buy the DVD and such.
