Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita episode 8 goes over the exact same period of time as the last episode. The difference with this episode is that it has more emphasis on finding the assistant and the first part had more emphasis on the copies of the main character.
Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita episode 8 seems to be all about identity. How different people can see the same person quite differently. How people put on different faces for others and believe that they are what others say they are. Where do we get our identity from? Jinrui believes that your personality and identity are heavily influenced by others. The assistant was muscled for grandfather who pretty much saw assistant in his own image. This was assistant’s first idea of what people wanted him to be. The assistant finally found what people wanted him to be like from listening to the clone tea party. Then that was what he adapted himself to be since most people wanted him to be like that.
In Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita the assistant changed physically and changed his personality for others. That is not very far off from how people in real life will change themselves to have people like them and accept them. People lose weight or hide parts of themselves to be accepted. People isolated from others are more likely to have annoying traits than people around others all the time. Those people have to hear about what they do wrong and can correct it. I have to wonder what assistant would have been like if no one had said what they thought his personality should be like. Would he have been closer to the more obnoxious boy or the quiet assistant that we ended up with.
Gotta say that I have been putting this off because I was pretty disappointed with this episode of Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita. After seeing the same thing happen over and over again in episode 7, I was hoping that episode 8 would make up for it and answer all my questions. I still have questions and now my opinion of this show is lowering quickly. It is not enough that they are doing the story out of order and having a repetitive pattern to the episodes. Now the pattern is not the only thing that repeats. Hopefully the next story arc is better.
