Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita episode 6 – Homecoming for Probes

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita episode 6 concludes the story of the tablets and  the beginning of the human monument project. The tablets turned out to be the Pion and Oyage who were the probes Voyager and Pioneer. They came back to Earth to report their findings and to visit once again because they missed the Earth. The main character made it so that they did not need to return to space and the fairies could come back. This lead to her hair being cut as punishment and the human monument project being put aside.

The pioneer probe in Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita can not be all that effective when she can not even recognize other forms of life. She is supposed to be looking for life in space and contacting them, but even then the fairies are pointed out to her she can not see them. It could be that she was poorly programmed to recognize lifeforms. This could also be foreshadowing though that the faeries are not really a form of life. Maybe there is something else going on.

The one fairy that the main character had on a mission that should not have been fun somehow managed to multiply. If the fairies can manage to have fun so easily by themselves I wonder what use the box with separate compartments is to stopping their reproduction.

We got to see the fairy luck in action between last episode and this one. When the party had one fairy they were barely able to get away from metal destroying gels. Later when they had three fairies they were able to recharge Pion just in time to attack the dog. When they fell down the hole with around ten fairies they managed to be just fine even though they should have died. When they were up to around 15 fairies the group of fairies made a nautilus to fight the giant cat. While the odds were stacked against them the more fairies they had the better off they were.

The main character’s decision to mess up the generator seems poorly planned. It would help the fairy population of the area and the probes would not have to go back to a job they hated. I understand her motives, but I wish she had thought them through a bit longer. But her own people could have used that electricity for good things. What if they had some old medical equipment or something else that could save lives that needed a lot of electricity? Now they would not be able to use it. Also having access to that electricity could help people to regain some of the skills they have lost. Seeing what people enjoyed in the past would help with that. The human monument did not just have to be a look at the past. It could also be a goal to obtain in the future by trying to get back to their former glory. Instead there was no electricity to make it exciting and the human monument is pushed aside. The work is given to people who do not know or care about history.
