Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita episode 5 has the human monument project finally going somewhere. The middle of Camphorwood has been set up with items for the human monument. There are also exploration groups going out to find items to add to what they have. The main character is sent somewhere safe, but as usual she is trapped and has to figure out what is going on.
The timeline for Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita is not a linear one from what I can see. The factory manager we met in the second episode is being introduced to the main character as the UNESCO CLT director like they have never met before. Also they appear to be introducing the human monument project for the first time which was supposed to be why the main character cut her hair and came up with her friend in the last story arc. There is also enough cake for all the fairies to eat, so this should be from before they started to run out of food. I really dislike when shows have a storyline that changes time periods all the time. Why not just put things in chronological order?

The new enemy in this episode is pretty normal looking. Straight out of the average RPG. It definitely is no skinned chicken.
We finally have more information on the fairies. While this show is supposed to have a lot to do with them, a lot of the focus has been on their inventions and actions. Not a lot of time has gone into showing the differences between humans and fairies. The fairies will apparently be harmed by electro magnetic waves. I guess that explains why they were not on the rise until after electricity was mostly gone. The fairies are also able to sense when it is coming which is very handy. To avoid damage from the waves besides running away they can turn themselves into a very thin string like form. Adding water to the string form will change them back into a full fairy. I wish there had been more explanation on how the fairy was able to do that. Also the more fairies there are around the higher luck an area has. If there are less fairies around and something bad happens, there will not be a magical happy ending like when they are around. That crazy luck must be what makes them able to make things like they do. Get enough fairies together and you can do anything.
There appears to be a new race or some kind of leftover robot from the looks of the catgirl. The way she talks about things and the sounds she makes while speaking show that she is not one of the normal villagers. The catgirl keeps referring to everything like someone else was telling her about it, but she is not very sure herself. Since she shows up in the abandoned city and can take down a robot dog maybe she is one of the shut-ins who lives there. That would explain how awkward she is while talking to the main character. It will interesting to find out more about her.
I never thought I would say this, but Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita is getting a little formulaic at this point. There are two episode story arcs and in the first episode everything is building up to something with little hints of what is to come. At the end of the first episode they add a bunch of crazy stuff to make people want to see the next episode. The second episode is when they reveal what is going on and wrap up all the loose ends. Coming into episode 5 I knew a bit about what to expect and it was not all that surprising this time around. Still enjoying the show, but I hope they change the formula a bit in the future.
