Indie Royale is a new way to buy indie games, where they start with a low, low price that changes based on the spending of your fellow consumers.
At Indie Royale .com they’re doing the marketing business a little bit differently. While the price starts low, it goes up with each person who buys the game at that low price. Fortunately, it also goes back down with each person who pays over that price. This means that a big donation from Notch, etc, could force it back down for you easily.
The nature of this business is also interesting and unique, it is a joint venture from IndieGames.com and the creators of Desura. It’s made even more interesting by the fact that this partnership was formed between two teams who technically compete, as the Desura group has IndieDB. For game developers who read our blog, this is an important lesson: Even people who would seemingly be your competition can be useful allies if you share a common goal.
But let’s get back to the bundles themselves. Many of the games are quite famous in their own right, such as the hit Sanctum which is in the first bundle. As with any good promotion of this type, you will be able to redeem the majority of these games on both Desura and Steam. This is a must have for many gamers, including myself.
Needless to say, it has the other features such as tech support if your download isn’t working and a contact page. But even more importantly you can contact them as an indie developer and ask them to put your game up. That’s right, your game could be the next featured on this exciting new offer.
