Indie Royale has a real treat for any Shmup fans out there: Irukandji and Bullet Candy Perfect. We’ll go over a bit about why you might be interested in these.
Indie Royale has added more games to keep up with its competitors. Bullet Candy Perfect and Irukandji are both quite difficult shmups for non-veteran gamers. However they may feel a little lacking for someone who played DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou.
They also added the Nightsky and Scorgasm Original Soundtracks. This means that you get all the games, the Fate of the World DLC and bonus soundtracks. The bundle is still quite affordable, at the time of this writing it was at $4.01 USD.
But what about the new Indie Royale games?
Irukandji is a modern-style shmup where you go through an underwater trench, fighting a variety of enemies. As usual it has the classic black sidebars that contain the HUD. It’s noteworthy for the wide variety of ships the game has, as well as the very beautiful art style.
Bullet Candy Perfect has some very simple graphics, but with that game it’s all about the gameplay. This game is for those who want to get a perfect run on a shmup, you know the hardcore one credit clear people.
In certain parts you do actually need some very decent skills for Bullet Candy Perfect. This is because the game can get quite hard to actually keep track of yourself in. However if you are a veteran of the “bullet hell” style of game you should be alright.
For now these Indie Royale games are only available for direct download and on Desura. So far no Steam keys have been available yet, so we’ll have to see what happens. Also keep an eye out for the next “Really Big Bundle”. This will likely have at least 9 games.
