Earlier, the Humble Indie Bundle site once again released a game by itself, and an Alpha at that. However the alpha of the game Voxatron is now being joined by Blocks That Matter and The Binding of Isaac if you pay over the average.
First let’s go down the Humble Indie Bundle itself. Voxatron is an interesting and blocky top down 2d action game. The art style is similar to early legend of Zelda games or even more similar to 3D Dot Game Heroes. It plays quite similarly to these older games, as you shoot enemies and pick up power-ups over time.
It’s also quite interesting in the fact that there is a level editor, allowing you to create your own maps in this style. You can really create some outlandish stuff and we think this might end up being the most exciting part of the game.
The other titles are a bit better known, but quite impressive this time around. The Binding of Isaac is a roguelike in the style of Legend of Zelda. This bizarre game from team meat is part RPG part horror.
In The Binding of Isaac you face bizarre horrors, strange rooms and horrifying bosses as you journey through the underworld of…. your house. You do this on a quest to defeat your mother, who is quite insane.
Blocks that Matter is a very odd platformer in the Humble Indie Bundle where you play as a block that matters. Throughout the game, you will jump on, bump into and fly over various other blocks that we can only assume matter less.
Overall this is quite a strong offering for the Humble Indie Bundle this time around. This also appears to be the start of the “Bundlers” putting up a game in very early alpha. They have had canceled games before, and early games, but this insures that they will have a wide variety for the future. Be sure to check out their site here.
