Hero Generations attempts to take all your favorite JRPG cliches and implement them to the extreme. From the system of having children from Phantasy Star to Roguelike character death they’re mashing all the elements together. We think that’s work noticing.
Hero Generations Gameplay and “The 5-Minute Civilization”
Characters have a limited amount of life which they spend during each of their turns. Each hero gets older and eventually dies. You have to spend your time carefully in order to get the most benefit.
To continue you’ll have to head into towns to find a mate. Once you have a mate you’ll have a child who will be the character you continue as. The final goal is to become as famous as you possibly can. You do this through a few options such as:
- Becoming tremendously strong and beating monsters
- Attracting excellent mates and having incredibly capable kids
- Exploring the full world
- Gaining a large amount of wealth to pass down to the kids
- Becoming famous directly with massive quests such as bosses
- Advancing in technology
Hero Generations has procedurally generated maps and when you die, you die for good. So you have to be careful when taking on a major boss.
Why Hero Generations Stands Out
For us at least the major selling points are the massive world and also the random event system. You’ll have prophecies to fulfill and huge lands with a lot of variety.
Supporting the Hero Generations Kickstarter
Getting your name as a final boss and getting your likeness in the game are two options for higher bidders. Those on the lower end can still get copies of the game or design an item. If any of these sound good to you then look everything over on their Kickstarter. So as usual weigh the options and decide for yourself.
