Hairy Tales is a new type of game on Desura. It is a new type of hex-based puzzler with a quirky art style. It has the time-tested gameplay where you guide a character through a level.

You have a variety of different tiles on the game world. You can drag these as you see fit. These various tiles tell the character where to go. Where things change up is the power-ups. This game has a variety of enemies and to defeat them you have to get the correct power-up items to the character. This adds another layer to the puzzle as you have to direct them to safety and get them to the power-ups.

You play as the “Hairys.” Think lemmings, but hairier and less helpless. Well, less helpless by a bit. They can do some things on their own if you guide them. Basically you push them through a dangerous fantasy wonderland.

We chose to feature Hairy Tales because the developers seem to know what they are doing. They have a unique art style and communicate with the press well. For other indie developers, you should take note. This is how to get noticed.

You can play the game on Windows and Mac. It also comes on iPhones and iPads. This is something we are seeing more these days. The wave of the future is to have a game on multiple platforms. Have there been problems with multiplatform translations? Undoubtedly. But we could one day be in an age where all platforms get a decent version.
