As someone who has been following Gundam since original century I eagerly await new shows. Then I wait for them to either go wrong or be horrible from the start. Will Gundam Build Fighters keep up the proud tradition? In a word, yes. This Angelic Layer ripoff had me quickly spiraling into anger and despair.
The Story of Gundam Build Fighters
Is YuGiOh and similarly aimed at children to sell things. It focuses on Sei who is terrible at fighting with toy models. In this universe miniature suits are powered by a field that lets them move like real ones. He constantly gets beat until he meets a red-haired kid who gives him a bead for helping him. When Sei is in trouble he makes a wish on it which teleports the new kid in. He takes over for the main character and wins easily. So basically this is a less competent YuGi who uses the millennium bead to win easily. Absolutely disgusting. There is not an original idea in this series.
Experience All Your Favorite Gundam Moments, Again!
From the models to the way the characters talk everything is taken from an earlier show. There is even a “battle is not decided by the suit” quote early on with the very first opponent. It appears that everything about this show will be making you recall the good old days. The problem with that is rehashing the good old days is rather boring for many of us. We were there for them and could re-watch them if we wanted. This will no doubt make some fan boys happy who go “oh it’s just like blank.” Well yeah it is, and that is a bad thing.
The Art is the Only Redeeming Factor
It is quite good in some battle scenes. Other than that it looks fairly average all around. While it has some good parts the music is also not that great. So we have a pandering story with some good art and nothing else.

They even put a guy known as “Ral” for Ramba Ral. It’s absolutely ridiculous how this show is pandering. It gets one point above terrible for having decent art. But every show in this series has had decent art for the past few years. So we continue the age of terrible Gundam shows. Please just, stop putting them out.
to be honest who cares about what there doing i bet not even you can make an awesome show which people would wanna watch. I haven’t watched any of the gundam series except for this one but all i know is that its not that bad and who really cares i only watched this because i didn’t know what to watch theirs no point of complains because nobody cares about your opinion. try making an anime show that is much better then this even 1% we will see about that then.
