Guncraft has finally made it to Steam. A lot of things have changed with this game over time. The actual weapon making portion is finally in the game as well as map customization and generation.
Guncraft Customization
We sat down to check out the new options that weren’t in the earlier game. The biggest one is obviously the “Guncrafting” itself. It uses two specific parts: First you craft the gun with blocks, which can be a bit confusing at first but makes sense after you work with it a bit. Then you set the stats in a more traditional menu. You can change everything from the velocity to the ammo type. This lets you create your very own weapon of mass destruction. All of this lets you create a variety of outlandish guns, some of which would not be able to fire in real life.
Guncraft Maps
Mapping has also greatly improved. While the base game had some excellent maps the full community has access to the tools now. They even have a way to generate random terrain for your maps. You can also load prefabs both in the map generation and also in the game itself. There are many ways to quickly re-build your previously created buildings while playing. Those who are especially skilled can use these to create a fortress on the fly.
The gameplay has not changed in any huge way from the beta. As such you can expect the same FPS gameplay that you saw earlier. We expect to see many more weapons and options come in later.
Getting Guncraft on Steam
Right now you can get Guncraft for 14.99 USD. While you won’t get all the beta extras, etc the game is still pretty solid. We imagine they will put those up for sale later on. Overall we really enjoyed this game and we think it deserves a shot.
