The Guild Wars 2 team are combining a new event with a free trial. Those currently playing get three invites for friends. At the same time new content with giant crabs is also coming. Overall it looks like the Guild Wars 2 crew is pushing hard for a new crop of users.
The Guild Wars 2 event itself
The event kicks off November 16th with defending Lion’s Arch from new creatures. This is perhaps a bit of shades of story mode here. Event number two is retaking Lion’s Arch from the creatures on the 17th. It finally finishes on November 18th with a final battle. The new enemies are essentially gient crabs by and large. They are being dubbed the “Ancient Karka.” The event itself will only go on once. The developers promise that there will be permanent changes. They are doing everything they can to make this a big deal.

It is no news to those who played that many areas are unfinished. This event promises to give spoilers for upcoming events.
The Guild Wars 2 new content
There is a variety of new content. Let us go down each part:
- A new PvP map called Temple of the Silent Storm
- A new area for level 80 players called Southsun Cove
- A new dungeon for level 80 players called the Fractals of the Mists
- The new Karka enemies
- New Ascended armor quality items with a new upgrade type called Infusion
- A new PvE condition called agony
- A new resource to harvest
- New Black Lion Trading Company Items
Why are they coming out with this now?
