Global Game Jam Coming in January- Big Time- Nerd Age

The Global Game Jam is coming January 25-27, 2013. The Global Game Jam will take place over 48 hours and has some huge names behind it.  We will be going over what makes the Global Game Jam so important for you.

Microsoft Studios and the Microsoft Imagine Cup are going to be sponsoring this. These two are huge names for any developer. This gives them serious sway in the community.

Just recently the Global Game Jam had 186 locations and is still rising. This makes it an absolutely massive jam. It also means you can check it out all over the world.

Just check out their locations page. The local organizers handle invites. Overall you have many opportunities to get involved. You can also volunteer to help with the event yourself. The association is filled primarily with volunteers after all. This is a great chance for developers to show off. It is also a great chance for fans to check out their local developers.

For developers, this is even more important. Just attending events can help you meet future development team members. At the same time if you do well you can expect some media attention. But most importantly, you have nothing to lose. Even if you do badly then you will probably have learned something. You will certainly have met some interesting new people.
