Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince episode 11 helped teach more about the enemy, but 12 is just a filler episode. In episode 11 the team explores the wreak of a Wulgaru ship and gets information from the wreak. Episode 12 is all about a day off for the team and the girls doing publicity for the team.
Episode 11 brought up the fact that Wulgaru make soldiers from clones that can only move because of a cartridge. When the ship crashed they all died due to lack of cartridges and it does not matter to the Wulgaru because they are a consumable resource. This brings up the fact that Team Rabbits are clones that are bred to fight until they die as well. Asagi wonders what the difference is between them which Izuru says is because they do not blindly follow orders. The counterpoint to this is the two communication guys leading Tamaki around by the nose. They use her weakness for guys to have her use the mech beyond its limits and endanger her life. Are they really thinking for themselves or are they all being secretly lead by the crew to do what they think is best?
One of the few informative things that happened in episode 12 of Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince was seeing the news being released about the war. The GDF were a bit more forthcoming about what was going on in the war than they needed to be. This war is in space and the press should not be able to find out what is going on without the consent of the military. They could also keep word of what is happening going out by limiting communication with Earth and keeping people in space. So letting the common people know that they are still not totally crushing the enemy seems way too honest on the part of the GDF. They are inflating the effectiveness of the MJP which is right on target for news given to the common people.
How come all the boys are going off doing what ever strikes their fancy and the girls are having to do publicity stunts? I guess the boys would not have looked as cute in all the outfits as the two girls. They have no breasts and fanservice opportunities for the mech fans if they use boys. I just wonder if the girls volunteered or were just told they did not get time off because they need to do publicity.
I thought after all the build up that Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince was going to take the high road and not show the girls in skimpy swimsuits. Then there it was at the end of the episode when I was feeling sure there would be no swimsuits. Well played show you got me there.
