Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince episodes 8 and 9 are about the battles for the base on Ceres and the aftermath. In episode 8 Team Rabbits goes up against the Wulgaru and ends up holding their own. Izuru fights against the prince one on one while Asagi leads the team. Izuru finds out that the enemy looks human which shocks him. In episode 9, the Team is dealing with their ‘victory.’ The enemy did turn and run, but their side had heavy losses and will probably have to leave the base they were fighting for. In the end the whole team finds out what the enemy is like and where the technology their mechs use comes from.
Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince finally shows the group using their mechs properly as a group with proper leadership. Only the leader is not Izuru it is Asagi who is normally shown as the nervous one. Asagi does a great job of getting all the other pilots to do what was best or make the most of the situation based on what the pilots would do anyway. He even gave the group back-up so they could get resupplied. It looks like Izuru will be delegating more of the leadership responsibilities to Asagi and taking on more challenges. That would make more sense with his character anyway because the most heroic thing to do is single combat with the strongest man in the force.
Team Rabbits are pretty disturbed to find out the enemy in Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince looks like humans. They are reassured that they are actually another species by their superiors, but they probably should not trust them much after all the false information that has been given to them all along. Before this was revealed the group was trying to think about what the enemy might be like and all those ideas were alien. Hope that their new information will not make it harder to fight them in the future. It certainly kept Izuru from following after his opponent.
The big reveal that the technology the humans are using is just technology the Wulgaru invented modified for humans was pretty lame. The prototype for the models that Team Rabbits are using does not make much sense now. Why did they mess around when they already knew what they needed to do? Why not have all the benefits of the later models to begin with? If they are ripoffs it should not have taken so long. Also the whole plot line of using the enemy to make your own defenses has been used so much. I wish they had done something different instead.
The whole group still hangs out in Asagi’s room.
