Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince episode 4 is about the outcome of the battle from episode 3. It also goes into events that lead up to training Team Rabbits and why they were chosen. A history lesson on the battle with the Wulgaru and the inevitable destruction of Earth is also included.
Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince raises a big question this episode. Why did they give the kids foster parents if they are just going to erase the memories? They could have just kept them in a tube until the right age or kept them in a special school. It just seems cruel to give them a life and then take it all away for training. At least if they were locked away to begin with they would not leave a family behind and would have no idea what they were missing. Even if they only see it in dreams.
When they made all the kids why didn’t they make them all have high survival instincts? Since they were choosing foster care for the children they could put them in a situation that would give them high survival instincts. For instance an area with high crime would either get them killed off or prepared to survive.
Suruga talking about his dreams of having someone hold him as a baby is pretty sad. All he has left of his childhood are dreams. Even if he does believe it to be true that at one point he had a happy childhood and life he can never be sure. Maybe his trying to go after girls is about trying to get contact with another human. If he actually got one, he would just ask her to hold him.
The choice to take all the kid’s memories is pretty weird. I understand that they are trying to make the perfect child soldiers, but it goes back to those survival instincts once again. If they have no past and no hope of anything else for the future then what are they surviving for? At any point they could just break down and not care anymore. If they have memories of a family that cared for them and things that they want to see survive they are more likely to fight harder and want to survive the confrontation.
