Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince episode 3 shows how their new celebrity status effects the lives of the Majestic Princes. Also it opens on their new battle that is supposed to be against a supply fleet. Things do not go as planned and the group is up against a new type of enemy that they do not know how to handle.
Finally this episode of Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince reveals some special characteristics about Team Rabbits that led to them being picked. It has been a big mystery so far why they would pick the absolute worst group for these special mecha even if it did all work out in the end. Each of the kids in Team Rabbits excels in one area in particular like concentration or tolerance to G-force. These special abilities are apparently very tiring for them. More important than that is that all of the team have high survival instincts. Since that is important to the Juria system for some reason it makes sense that it would be a requirement.
After Team Rabbits got to see all the good aspects of being a celebrity in episode 3 of Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince they show the worst aspects. When the team goes on their vacation they see the video of their mistakes playing all over the place. The group could not even eat out in public without people all around them speculating about what they were doing. This leads most of the team to not be able to enjoy their vacation and spending the whole time in their cottage. With all the negative aspects becoming more evident after they messed up Team Rabbits is having a hard time of it that will only get worse since their latest mission was obviously not successful either.
Now that the group is not being supported by the public the kids are regretting the way their life is headed. They have no say in the matter though since their whole life is being decided for them except the more trivial parts. Most of the superior officers are lording over them and talking about how they have to be worth the time and money that was put into them. Even when the superiors did not put in enough time to make sure their intel is accurate. The team does not even have their memories of life before they were being trained to comfort them. When the group came to mech training all their memories of the time before they went to school were erased.
The whole group having their memories erased would explain a lot about the personalities of Team Rabbits in Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince. Most of the team act like normal teenagers would act in these circumstances like when Izuru showed the press his picture of a hero and told them that he wanted to be a hero. Most teens would think that idea is childish and even if they thought about it they would not share it with everyone. Izuru’s focus on being a hero is more easily explained though when he shares that right after his memory wipe he read a lot of manga. So he has a lot of exposure to stories with heroes and no background that would tell him that telling people he wants to be a hero might be silly. Kei and Asagi have very little personality, but why would they when the school probably encourages them to just focus on their studies and on being a proper soldier. Asagi’s problems probably stem from the fact that all he knows is how to be a mech pilot and he is not living up to other people’s expectations of pilots. Tamaki and Suruga’s focus on fulfilling their desires for relationships could even make sense since they no longer have any hobbies to fill their time, but they still have sexual drive and a desire to be loved. They would not even have any references to know that they are going about it all wrong. Like when Suruga tries to woo women by telling them about mechs in detail. All their personality quirks could go back to not having a past or at least not having as much to draw on as the average teen. That would make them all behind their peers socially.
