Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince episode 2 is about what happens in the aftermath of Team Rabbit saving Undina Base.
After the first episode of Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince showing the kids all performing way beyond their abilities it was refreshing to see them fight for themselves. The whole fighting sequence was due to the Juria System. After getting accosted by interviewers Asagi started to experience anxiety which effected his digestion. Also the kids started to fumble simple things and miss shots like they normally would. A lot of shows after the first glorious battle do not show the main characters making such big mistakes again. After seeing all the mistakes the enemy does not even want to deal with them anymore.
Many shows have the kids acting like perfect soldiers or crying over their lot. Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince shows the wonder of being a hero out of nowhere, and shows that these pilots are still just normal kids. Asagi dodges the linkage for his mech out of fear at the last minute like a normal person would when something comes towards them at high speed. Also during the interview two of the cast act inappropriately like the kids they are by showing a personal picture and announcing that the intention to accept applications for a boyfriend. Seeing them react like real kids makes this easier to relate to than the average mech show.
The scenario for Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince feels a bit more realistic because it covers so much of what happens to the lives of the kids after they save the base. The world is suddenly commenting on their every move and they do not understand why they are concerned with them or making names for their group like Majestic Princes. The group as a whole was not prepared to be interviewed they had no answers to important questions and had no preparation to know not to answer personal questions. They were all stunned when the survivors came up to touch them and give a gift. Even the random comments across the screen about their interview makes it seem like something that could happen. If a big group of heroes in real life behaved like them there would be comments just like those on YouTube. The negative comments from their peers have not been addressed at this point, but I hope they will be in the future. For now this must all be like a dream to Team Rabbit, but their peers must be very resentful.
Having a squad of mecha has to be a big expense and in many shows it is not even addressed. Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince weighs the cost of the mecha with the cost in human life and that is kind of sad. Realistic while being very sad. Also the show has a solution to the cost in putting ads on the mecha. What are ads though without a time to display them, so they stage the mecha doing something that most any of their machines could do. That way the advertisers feel like it was worth it.
