In Fuse Teppou Musume no Torimonochou a hunter girl leaves the country to live with her brother after her grandfather died. Hamaji made it to Edo, but was having trouble finding where her brother lived because she is unable to read. Along the way she finds out about hunting Fuse and meets one in person even if she does not know it at the time. When she meets up with her brother he announces they will be hunting Fuse as well. Hamaji hunts down one of the last Fuse and is given a note from her to deliver to Shinbee. Hamaji finds out from that letter a way to help her friend that is a Fuse.
After Hamaji meets a Fuse right after she gets into Edo it is easy to see where Fuse Teppou Musume no Torimonochou is going. It was confirmed when her brother announced they would be hunting Fuse. With her being a hunter and meeting up with a Fuse it was way too predictable that she would be up against his people if not him.
The Fuse themselves are more a mystery than the plot itself. If the story that was presented in the play is true then why did the king not stop the marriage before she got pregnant? I have even more questions than that, but the whole story behind Fuse is crazy. Why the Fuse thirst for life orbs is not fully explored just like their origin. Apparently they can get by without them, but if they just needed to be cheered on to do it they should have already figured it out long ago. It would have been way easier to live without eating life orbs which caused them to get hunted down.
The ending does not make any sense because one minute Shino is telling Hamaji to always be connected and then he is far away. How will she remain connected to him from so far away? Surely he did not mean the letters she ended up sending him because when he said that she still could not read or write. When he initially left there was no way for them to be connected over such a distance. Did he just go back to the way he was before because there would be no connection between them for a long time?
