Forge Quest – A kickstarter to watch

Forge Quest combines Zelda-style gameplay with the crafting and building of Minecraft. Come find out more about this very interesting project.

Forge Quest: the roaming of Zelda and 3D Dot Game Heroes

Forge Quest blends several great elements from other games. From early shots, you can already see that you’ll have all the staples of games like these. Swords, armor and of course chickens. Obviously there will be quite a few interesting monsters later on.

You will of course have various swords, shields and magic spells. This lends itself to some serious multiplayer combat possibilities. We’re excited to see people building their own fortresses then battling.

But perhaps the most exciting aspect is the occurrence of random events. The developers have promised events that will alter the world around you when certain conditions are met.

You will also be able to combine various items. Even in this very early version you can combine items to make potions.Overall you can expect some very deep crafting in the final version.

It will of course combine various other elements such as multiplayer and mining. They already have rudimentary mining for materials set up.

The Kickstarter conundrum

Although the project has been mentioned by several big names and properly set up, they still need more funding. Depending on your level you can get anything from a simple beta to an actual NPC in the game.

If they get quite a bit over the funding goal special rewards will be offered. These include bonus content to all donators or even a release of their editor itself.  As of now the game is in a very early stage, but we will keep you updated.

You can check out their Kickstarter and learn more about the game on their Forge Quest Kickstarter site. And of course you should get it while you can or you’ll be kicking yourself when it’s hard to find new beta copies.
