Vividred Operation is set in a future that has been saved by the Manifest Engine that can energy out of air. Unfortunately the creator of the engine was considered crazy when he said that the world would be attacked by something called the Alone, but he worked on something to save everyone anyway. Now the Alone have shown up and it is up to young girls to use their special powers to attack the Alone saving their world. This can only happen if they trust each other enough to ‘dock’ and share their memories.
The story for Vividred Operation is not the best so far. Something is coming to attack them for some unspecified reason. There must be one or why would the grandfather know they were coming? I am guessing it has something to do with the Manifest Engine. Although from the way the episode went it looks like the Alone just want to destroy every jet in existence. Also the grandfather switched over to the body of a stuffed animal and switching his mind into that animal apparently made the body like a human’s. He even says ouch while in that body at one point. What kind of messed up grandfather has his granddaughters put his lifeless body into the fridge? Hope no one comes to investigate anything at their house because they have a body in the fridge. In between these weird nonsensical moments there are long stretches of nothing happening.

The show has lots of questionable shots as well. Why do I need to see a butt shot of a young girl every few minutes? They do not even have Akane sit on her bike most of the time, so it is easier to get shots of her ass. Also the docking scenes are pretty out there as well. Will not even go into all that.
The jets and boats are useless, so obviously the problem is that there needs to be more of them.
The characters in the show are all pretty stereotyped. Akane is the energetic girl that does not think much about the consequences of her actions. Aoi is the withdrawn rich girl that admires the energetic girl. Momo is the hardworking responsible sister. Not attached to any of these characters after two episodes because they are all so one dimensional and even that dimension is bland and overdone.
Overall I would not suggest Vividred Operation. Have not seen anything good about it so far. Although the crazy things going on might lead this show to eventually be so bad it is funny if they take out some of the more boring portions.
