Tsuritama is about a boy who moves around a lot and doesn’t handle stress very well. How will he handle having someone very stressful enter his life?
Tsuritama starts with a story about a goddess saving people from a five headed dragon. Then the show goes in totally different direction following Yuki when he is transferring to a new school and Haru when he is randomly wandering Enoshima. Later when Yuki is at his new school he meets up with Haru and Haru gets Yuki to do what he wants by squirting him with a water gun. Yuki will then wake up doing whatever Haru wants. This leads to them going fishing with a guy that neither of them knows.
Tsuritama has two different kinds of art styles during this one episode. At first there is an artstyle where everything looks like patches for the tale of the goddess. When the story focuses on Yuki it is a more traditional style, but still unique. This show uses a ton of bright colors. The CGI in this show is so bad though. The car they show when Yuki is moving is awful. I wish they had no attempted CGI there.
The story starts out pretty slow at first, but once everything gets really weird it picks up. It is kind of hard to see where it is going at this point except that they are supposed to somehow save the world. Also there will definitely be fishing.
Overall this show is not easy to judge at this point since the story is not very clear. For the art it is very good when they aren’t trying CGI. I am curious about where this is going, so I am going to stick with this one.
Status: Still Watching because I am so curious.
