Super Seisyun Brothers is about two sets of siblings made up of a brother and a sister. One set are more happy and self obsessed while the other set are more depressed and abnormal.
The art is the first thing I notice about Super Seisyun Brothers the artist was super lazy with this show. Both sets of siblings look almost exactly the same. The coloring and slight differences in the hair are the only differences between the sets of siblings. Not just a problem with the anime adaptation since looking at pictures from the manga they looked the same there as well.
There does not seem to be much on an overarching story right now which makes sense since it is a short. Super Seisyun Brothers takes the normal approach for shorts of having lots of little scenes that are supposed to be funny. They are not all that funny though some of them just come off as sad. For instance the scene with the Shinmoto siblings where the sister no longer wants to go to college anymore because there are no handsome guys there. It soon becomes apparent that she does not think anyone is handsome enough to compare with herself. Is she never going to do anything because there are no guys that compare with her image of herself? College is supposed to be hard to get into in Japan, but she is going to throw it away because of how the guys look. That is just shallow and sad not funny.
The Saitou siblings were the more interesting of the two sets, since they did things like practicing to talk to aliens and spirits. No idea why they would need to practice, but it was more interesting that the shallow things the other set talked about like how beautiful they were.
Overall a standard slice of life short show with not enough interesting material to go around.
Status: Not Watching. Not enough decent material for this series. Would have been better to just focus on the freakier set of siblings.
No idea what the cats were for since they only showed up between scenes. I like to think of them as distraction cats trying to get people not to notice how boring each scene is. I have seen it done before this.
