Usagi Drop is about a man that goes to his grandfather’s funeral and finds out a secret about his grandfather. His grandfather might have had a secret child that no one knew about. Someone has to take care of the child but no one wants to, regardless of whether they are actually related. So the main character steps forward and takes responsibility for Rin (the child). Unfortunately he does not have an ideal situation for taking care of a child, which is what the series has been about so far.
Usagi Drop is very deeply rooted in the slice of life genre. It details the main character’s life and how he deals with his new child. At times I felt pretty bad for Rin, she has to be lonely. The spoilers said that it was going to be a comedy, but it’s just dull. There is no comedy to be had here.
The artwork for this show is just beautiful. The watercolor look makes it stand out from other shows. The opening and ending have childlike drawings that are very colorful and fit with the theme of the show.
Show Status: Dropped. This slice of life show just doesn’t have enough going on.
