Space Brothers is about two brothers that have a dream to become astronauts.
Space Brothers starts by showing the conditions both the brothers are born into. The older brother is born on a day of failure and the younger brother born on a day of triumph. Mutta believes that the days of their birth have set the course for the direction of their whole life with Mutta having it hard and Hibito having it easy. Then it shows the brothers together exploring the area and recording their findings. While they are exploring Hibito sees a UFO and it influences the brothers into space exploration. When the brothers grow up Mutta works in car development and Hibito is an astronaut. Mutta loses his job and has to move back home, but he finds a way back to his original dream.
When I saw this show was coming out I was not expecting much. I have been pleasantly surprised. Space Brothers has a pretty good story about the lives of two brothers that can be heartwarming and funny at times. The two brothers having a dream together and the younger brother trying to help the older brother do what he wants is beautiful.
The biggest thing about the characters so far is their brotherly bond. Mutta makes it sound like the two of them are competing or that he feels bad about his brother getting ahead of him. But when someone makes fun of his brother, he puts his job on the line. Hibito obviously cares about his brother in the same fashion helping his brother to remember his dream and get him on the right path. Hopefully the brotherly bond will make it through the entirety of the series.
Overall this show seems quite good so far. Hopefully it will not let me down later.
