Samurai Flamenco
Samurai Flamenco is about a young man obsessed with heroes that decides to become one. Hazama is a male model, so he has a designer friend make him a costume. Since he is working his way up to being a hero, Hazama starts at the bottom by handling little crimes like littering. People find him a nuisance, so he gets reported to the police all the time. Along the way Hazama became friends with a police officer named Goto who is torn between his job and his friend who he feels is a bit misguided.
The story of Samurai Flamenco is a bit silly. Why would getting onto people for petty crimes like jaywalking or littering help Hazama to be a hero? Some of the things he goes after people for are annoying, but it is not the kind of thing he has seen on television. Since he is just doing it because of the heroes on television it does not make sense that he would come around to going after small crimes. The writers are doing something a bit different, but so far it is a bit on the boring side. Different is not always better.
Overall I am a bit disappointed. Looking at stuff for this show I was expecting more action and something closer to the standard hero show. That is not really the show’s fault that their are different expectations that people have going in. I still have hope that this show can either pick up the action or at least tug at some heartstrings.

Noucome
Noucome is about a boy who lives with the curse of absolute choice where at times he will have to pick between doing two bad things or immense pain. This causes people to have a bad opinion of him in his class. After a girl falls out of the sky due to one of his choices Kanade find out that he can end his curse. The only way to end it is to complete missions and he can not fail at any of them or he will never lose the curse.
The best part of Noucome is at the end after the episode is over they show what would have happened to Kanade if he had made another choice. It is interesting to see that these choice have farther reaching consequences than just being more embarrassing than the choice that he made. It was especially interesting to see that if Kanade had decided to be a girl he would have gotten a boyfriend.
Almost every one of the choices are perverted or just embarrassing. It would be deeper if the choices had more directions that they went in like having him going out of his comfort zone in other way like standing up for something or trying out a new activity. As is they are just there to add an ecchi element to the show. Hopefully the choices will develop more later in the show.
Overall this show tries to sound more impressive than it actually is at times with discussions of what would have happened if different choices had been made in history. In reality it is mostly an excuse to have a guy do crazy perverted things besides just being really perverted. The missions also seem a bit too close to The World God Only Knows with helping all the girls.

It really is upsetting when most shows contain so much fan service that rather than really focusing on the story, it just doesn’t make it interesting.
