Since I did not get to Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise earlier this impression is based on the first two episodes.
Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise is a show about two high school girls who are magical girls. Together they are trying to stop some very incompetent people from gaining access to magical objects.
Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise is not very original to say the least. Many things are very obviously taken from other shows. I am not pointing them out because I want to leave some fun for people who watch magical girl shows and to not dissect everything for those that don’t. Unlike some people who dislike anything smacking of ripping off something I don’t think it necessarily makes it a bad show. It kind of gives me a nostalgic feeling. I enjoy the addition of fanservice that they have made to a classic template for magical girl shows. Right now so many magical girl shows are trying to be so different and this one does not. It’s refreshing, in a way.
The main characters for the show are kinda dull. One is an athletic, loli type and the other is a busty book smart girl. Besides the athletic one being more talkative they do not really show much personality. The best part of the show is the villains so far. Salome and her boy toy are pretty amusing and they remind me of team rocket if James were fawning over Jesse. The two of them even have a selection of robots.
The music and animation really do little to add to the show. The songs are pretty repetitive and can get annoying. The animation is not the best I have seen really.
Show Status: Still watching. If you like older magical girls shows then maybe give it a try.
