Oreshura is the story of a boy named Eita who was abandoned by his parents when they found lovers. Now Eita is totally anti-love and is trying to study hard to get a scholarship into a public med school. This makes him the perfect target for Masuzu who wants boys to leave her alone, but does not want a real relationship. Also she has some dirt on Eita which makes him an even better target for her plan. The only thing Masuzu did not plan on was how close Eita is with his childhood friend who is a girl.
The story for Oreshura is not that impressive so far. Two people hooking up so that someone avoids getting hit on has been done and better than in this show. The whole second episode about his relationship with his childhood friend seems pretty pointless. I do not even understand why he is staying with Masuzu if she is going to keep taking out his journal and reading it even though they are ‘going out.’ The only really good point to the plot I have seen in this is that at this guy with a harem will have a reason to appear gay.
When I first saw this part I thought I was watching something like Sword Art Online or Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai.
The opening is interesting because it is almost like an opening for a show about cute girls doing cute things. It features all the girls and really girly things all over the place. They even have one of the girls talking into a banana for no reason. Only a few things point towards a show that is not just about cute girls.
Overall there is nothing really horrible about Oreshura, but there is nothing really great either. It will probably only go further downhill when all the girls have been introduced.
Status: Keeping my eye on it.
Time to make a new goal Eita.
