Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san
Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san is about Takurou who accidentally catches Muromi-san on his hook. Muromi-san is not just going to swim away afterwards though. She eats all his ragworms and gets stuck on his lure as well. Takurou helps Muromi get away from her enemies which are seagulls and cats.
The artstyle of Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san is very cute and some say old fashioned. The backgrounds are definitely different with a more crude look to them like a colored in sketch. The effect is nice and makes it stand out from other shows.
No real story for Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san so far just a stream of jokes about Muromi. This is just an introduction to mermaids at this point though. Hopefully the writers have gotten tired of writing about the differences between humans and mermaids so they can make some different jokes. From the look of the preview the next episode should be quite different.
Muromi is already a very aggressive tsundere. That can be interesting or a crutch to make jokes. Hopefully the writers develop her relationship rather than just make a ton of jokes that involve her being tsundere.
Overall Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san could go either way. If this is a more off the wall comedy like the preview and opening suggest it could be good. If the whole show goes the same way as the first episode it will get stale very quickly.
Status: Still Watching. Hoping it gets more off the wall after the introduction episode.
Zettai Bouei Leviathan
Zettai Bouei Leviathan is about three magical girls that are part dragon. They are even named after dragons Leviatan, Bahamut and Jörmungand. There has been a problem there with meteorites landing and monsters coming out of them. A fairy named Syrop is trying to gather strong people to help out, but is having trouble trying to convince Leviathan to join.
The story so far is just the typical familiar gathering the magical girls story. Syrop has some monsters that need fighting and only powerful champions will do. The next few episodes will most likely show how she gets the girls to join together to fight them. My bet is that Leviatan will join because of something to do with her brother.
The comedy for the show is pretty bad. Jokes like how ugly guys should not hit on hot girls or how a guy tried to touch the scales of a hot girl. Because changing a regular body part with scales makes it totally funny. Most of the comedy is surrounding the fairy because she just says whatever she wants and is so hungry.
The opening song for this show does not in any way fit with the rest of the show. Cute girls do not go with the dark and moody opening.
Overall the show is pretty bland. There are cute girls for people who like them and dragon parts for others who like scales. That is the hook.

That sassy fairy needs to shut up.
