Meganebu! is about a group of boys that really like glasses. They want to promote them not just for vision correction or fashion, but also for usefulness. So the group of them are working on making x-ray glasses to see through clothing. The group is really motivated when they hear an outside doctor will be coming because they believe there will be a hot nurse to test their work on. In the end they get their glasses to work, but soon after their latest attempt explodes.
Meganebu! does not appear to have a lot going for it plotwise. The whole drive of the club is about making a pair of x-ray glasses which the club has already done in the first episode, but they explode. So, is the rest of the series going to be about them failing again and again? If they achieve their goal then the point of the the whole story is pretty much over. Either the story is a bunch of failures or the group screwing around with their new glasses. It could go another way, but that does not look likely.
While Meganebu! does not have much going on with the plot it makes up for it with how they present what they have. The group trying to get their glasses together and delay the doctor from finishing his work was pretty exciting considering the content. They made it way more interesting than it had any right to be. Considering some shows can take interesting concepts and make them quite dull the writers for this show were pretty skilled with this poor subject matter.
Overall even with the crafty writing this show has no where to go and eventually it will get stale unless it goes in some totally unpredictable direction.
Status: Not watching. It does not seem to have much potential. I see this show rehashing the same thing time and again.
