Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist is about a boy named William Twining who is a realist and does not believe in religion or anything not explained with science. William is the top of his class and everything would be fine if he just had the money for his tuition. William does not even know why he suddenly has no tuition because his family is well off. When William returns home he finds that his uncle lost all his family’s money and the only one left at home is his butler. William searches the whole house looking for something he can sell for tuition when he accidentally summons Dantalion. This accidental summoning gets William into a world that he does not even believe in.
Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist does one thing right. The main character does not just magically accept what is going on. That is pretty refreshing when so many stories just have the characters accepting things that real people would never take casually. At least not sane people. William went along with his character type and did not believe anything that was going on and even called people to take Dantalion away.
The character designs for Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist are all really beautiful. Bluebeard should have a beard instead of long beautiful hair for one thing. This is not the first time I have seen Bluebeard portrayed without a beard, but it is the most confusing. The character designs do make a lot more sense after finding out that this show is from the shojo genre.

Overall while this premise could be interesting if this was taken seriously it is going to go downhill because this is a shojo. Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist has too many pretty boys and guys that look like women. It will not be too long before people will be making out.
