Love Live! : School Idol Project tells us what to do if our school is about to be closed. Obviously you pimp out the girls at your school as idols. What else could you do? It all starts when Honoka finds out about her school closing and decides she has to do something about it. Honoka finds out from her sister about school idols. After visiting a school with idols, Honoka decides that is the best chance to save her school. Then comes the process of getting the group together, practicing, performing, and becoming successful.
The story for Love Live! at least is not the standard idol story where the girl just has a dream to be a successful idol. This group of girls is actually trying to do something for their school and not just get fame for themselves. Other than the motivation behind the girls becoming idols the story is pretty standard at this point. They are training and having to get a song, which is not original at all. It looks like from here on it is on the standard idol show path.
The main trio of girls all have pretty standard personalities as well. Honoka is the pushy one who is the driving force behind the group because she will not give up. Umi is the more cynical, realistic girl that helps Honoka figure out what she needs for the group. Kotori is the quiet girl that goes along with what her two outgoing friends want.
Overall Love Live! is pretty average for an idol show although it does have its more off the wall moments.

Status: On the Fence. While there are good moments in this show, it is not the best. In this season though, I am not going to rule it out just yet.
