Love Lab
Love Lab is about a perfect girl in the student council who is get love training from the bad girl of her school. The two girls explore manga cliches like how to run into a guy with bread in your mouth.
Love Lab at the beginning looks like it is going to be a show about lesbians. All the girls are falling for Wild Riko and then Riko’s eyes meet with the school beauty. The opening comes up with scenes showing Riko and Natsuo holding hands along with other misleading moments. In fact there is a lot of talk about falling in love, but the only real boys they show are doing something bad. It looks like the whole show is just to show innocent girls acting out love scenes from manga. The girls themselves are supposed to be interested in men despite the lack of any real men in the show.
Overall Love Lab uses too many cliches while it is supposed to be making fun of them it does so in a very heavy handed fashion. Since that is the primary point of the show for now, I would not recommend watching it.

Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku
Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku is about a club named the Going Home Club. They do not actually go home, instead they spend their afternoons having fun. The girls do really fun things like go to the new crepe shop and feed the pigeons. There are also stories about how amazing the older members of the club are like fighting bears or spending excessive amounts of money.
Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku is just another show about a club full of girls that do not do much. This one is slightly different from the others because of the excessive reactions to everything. There is a whole character that is only there to scream about everything, so that it seems more exciting. That girl is the main character and it is sad because if they pulled her out of the show it would not be very different.
The best part of the show was a tiny segment where they had one of the girls fighting bears. After that they showed bears in hoods that said they were the four bear lords. They should have just scrapped the show about girls in a club and made a show about the four bear lords. I would have watched that.
The character designs have all the typical styles except for the huge piece of hair coming up from the main character’s head. That piece of hair has a larger place in the series than she does. The most confusing thing about the character designs is that the president of the Going Home Club has twintails, but does not seem to be tsundere. That is unusual these days.
Overall Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku does not differentiate itself enough from the flood of shows just like it. This is only for fans of the typical club full of girls model.
