First Impressions: Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi

Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi is about a girl named Ai who is the daughter of a gravekeeper and a human. Before her mother died she told her that one day her father Hampnie Hambert would come see her. After Ai’s mother dies Ai is left to be the gravekeeper of the town. When a man named Hampnie Hambert comes to town and kills the whole village he claims that he could not be her father. Ai ends up traveling with Hampnie and finds out many new things about the world and even her own town.

The whole point of the story in Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi is that people can no longer die or be born. So it is pretty disappointing that people can both die and be born. Having the people all become the restless undead does not really qualify as not dead. Also they can be fully dead with the help of a gravekeeper. Also the way that people can be born is pretty lame. What is the point of the show if the whole premise is false.

At the end of the third episode the show has exposed everything it ever said as being untrue and resolved most major plot points. Where is Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi going to go from here. Ai says she is going to help people and try to fix the world. The way the show has been going that will be a lie as well.

The other part of the premise that has not shown itself to be a lie could be interesting. God answering people’s prayers for things like not dying or dying surrounded by your family. He seems to be answering the prayers in the most inconvenient way possible for the person. Seeing how that effects things later in the show will most likely be the direction the show goes in from this point.

Overall if Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi can not stay true to its gimmick then why should I care. The whole show for the first three episodes is telling the viewer one thing and then showing it to not be true. Quit trolling me show.

Status: Not Watching. Too dark for me.

Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi AI and dad

Should have ended here.
