Jormungand is a show about an arms dealer.
Jormungand starts out with Jonah starting work with Koko despite the fact that he hates weapons. He then rides with her despite the others not really trusting him. They have a big car chase with guns and bazookas on the way to pick up a delayed weapon shipment. When they get there Koko says that she will get Jonah to accept weapons because she is an arms dealer. Soon after that ordeal is over they are working on stopping the shipment of another arms dealer’s weapons. Koko is hurt while negotiating, but in the end her team comes out on top.
Jonah is just full of contradictions since he hates weapons, but is working for an arms dealer. He does not seem all that reluctant either since he is not holding back at all. He says point out a target and he will shoot. At least while Koko was talking to him about why she knew he wouldn’t hurt her I learned that guns are a necessity like water or air. You just cannot live without a gun.
This show has some decent action sequences, but that is all that is going on really. At least so far there is not really a story they just went on arms dealer missions. Maybe they will go into Jonah’s background more later.
The color palette for this show is really muted which makes everything looked washed out. Seems a bit too calm for a show with car chases and arms dealers. It also makes me wonder if Koko is an albino or just has washed out color that I am missing.
The opening for this show has some of the worst singing in English I have ever heard. Quite a feat since there is so much Engrish in Japanese music. I know they are singing in English because I am reading the subtitles, but I can still barely understand it. Just wow.
Status: Not Watching. This kind of show is good for some, but not me.
